“Understanding Early Literacy Foundational Skills” is a course that will increase your understanding of the ELA CCSS Foundational Skills standards, the simple view of reading, and the science of reading instruction.
K-2 teachers will learn about the significance of systematic phonics instruction, and teachers who teach beyond the primary grades will learn how gaps in students’ Foundational Skills lead to reading challenges. If you feel that strong instruction and access to grade-level work are the core of an equitable classroom, you should enroll in this course today.
ACCREDITATION
Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation, which can serve as verification of attendance for state-approved continuing education credits in most states where such programs exist. Please email open-enrollment@teachinglab.org for any questions regarding accreditation.

VIRTUAL DELIVERY
“Understanding Early Literacy Foundational Skills” will be delivered through Zoom via our Learning Management System (Canvas), which brings our unique professional learning content and learning environment online while enhancing our ability to build community among educators.
Participants will engage in synchronous (led by a facilitator) and asynchronous (self-directed) learning experiences.
